Lyrics for 58 second song were originally penned by Marciana Jones, re: TSP The Sandwich Police. But maybe Lemonheads bought them? Is she credited on the song? I think there’s at least one other TSP song which Marciana would’ve been responsible for the original lyrics. I didn’t check album credits. But I see Marciana from time to time to time and she confirms this. Also I was around them when they were getting those songs ready to recorded the TSP releases, a decade or so ago.
As this piece tries to capture, Evan Dando is a less than perfect guy who has still managed to write and perform some pretty beautiful songs along the way. I’m sorry to hear that he did something you felt as a betrayal… I’ve been there (betrayed by individuals I wanted to trust), and have found that while writing about that kind of thing to process it can help, there isn’t much sense (at least for me, in my case) of living inside that feeling of blame… Just isn’t habitable. Karma does have a way of working itself out.
Yes I’ve definitely figured out about the “blame game” not being helpful after the initial “reeling”. It makes you hate YOURSELF after a while… I am extremely grateful that somehow the universe guided me full circle through it all and back to myself. Trust me, I know what you’re saying and I agree with you. The book I want to write is transcendent of those things that might haunt us…. That’s my goal anyway.
That being said…. Please understand that you likely don’t understand the circumstances by which I got steamrolled. Smear campaign was on ME, not by me on him. And it’s nots what I’m trying to do.
